Spanish-Language Media Relations And National Spanish Spokesperson

Elianne González’s primary role at the Insurance Information Institute (I.I.I.), is promoting the non-profit organization’s mission of improving the public’s understanding of insurance – what it is and how it works, specifically addressing Hispanic consumers and media. For the past 10 years, Ms. González has worked to increase awareness among Hispanic communities about such issues as disaster preparedness, recovery and resilience as well as the importance of home, auto and business insurance.


Ms. González is a long-time personal finance editor, writer, and columnist.  Her work has appeared in many major Spanish publications and Web sites including MSN Latino, where she answered readers’ questions on personal finance.  She is regularly interviewed by prime-time TV and radio shows, such as Telemundo’s Un Nuevo Día show, Univision Channel 41 consumer segment “El 41 a tu lado”, and national, regional, and local publications such as Empresarios Latinos business magazine. 


Before becoming I.I.I.’s National Spanish Spokesperson, Elianne lead business and financial editorial teams for Terra.com in Miami, FL, wrote financial articles published in main Spanish language publications, and for the last twelve years has managed procurement of financial content, translation services, media relations and marketing for clients of her consulting firm Power Content Inc., that include MSN Latino, AOL Latino, Yahoo! En Español, The World Bank Group, Cisco Systems, and many others.


Ms. González has an MBA from the Warrington School of Business at the University of Florida, has hold Florida state licenses for several financial products including life insurance, variable annuities, mortgage broker and property and casualty insurance lines. She is also a member of the National Association of Hispanic Journalists (NAHJ) and has lived in South Florida since 1995.
