A seasoned restaurant-industry veteran who’s proud to be chicken – Hector A. Munoz brings undeniable energy and a lifelong passion for building unforgettable brand experiences to Church’s Chicken®.

He’s spent more than 25 years in the quick service restaurant business, not just as a talented marketing executive, but also as an inspirational and motivational role model in the field. He’s known for standing shoulder to shoulder with internal teams, restaurant owners, and franchisees to grow sales, expand market presence, enhance guest satisfaction, and connect with guests across every type of media.  

Here at Church’s, Hector is the head of the global marketing team, overseeing all Brand Strategy and Marketing in the U.S., and also internationally through the company’s Texas Chicken® brand. New product development, advertising and creative services, strategic planning and calendar activation, digital and social media engagement, consumer insights and metrics, and strategic partnerships will also all fall under Hector’s very experienced wings.

Before coming back to the Church’s organization – where he once served as the Director of Marketing for one of our largest franchisee groups, Hector demonstrated his tremendous skill with turning ideas into results across a number of different quick service restaurant brands.

He previously spent six years as Chief Marketing Officer at Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen where he was responsible for a +25% increase in same-store sales, 26 consecutive quarters of positive same-store comp sales, and outperforming the industry every quarter of his tenure. His advertising campaign for Popeyes also earned “Top 5 in the Industry” marks from Technomics and Ad Age.  Hector also spent nearly a decade with Burger King Corporation as their VP of Global Brand Image and New Concept Strategy; and has been involved with marketing at Long John Silver’s®, Taco Bell®, and Bruegger’s Bagels®.  

Add to all that a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing from California State Polytechnic University – Pomona, and an MBA from the University of Miami, and there’s no question that Hector is a heavy hitter in the marketing world – which is why we’re really glad he’s on Church’s side.
