As GM’s Director of Global Media, Branded Entertainment and Diversity Marketing, Laura Hernandez-Romine focuses on leveraging GM’s scale globally to drive marketplace changes, leading the development of long term strategies to drive focus and integration supporting growth across all GM brands.

Prior to joining General Motors, Laura was Senior Vice President, Head of Multicultural, at Carat, NA, where she led the development of Total Market approaches to target Multicultural and General Market customers across blue chip accounts such as Diageo, Home Depot, Pfizer, Disney, General Motors, and Smuckers.

Prior to Carat, NA, Laura was Head of Multicultural for P&G at Starcom MediaVest Group, managing the Oral Care, Fabric Care, Home Care, Hair Care, and Beauty categories.

In her current role, Laura has invested in Multicultural research and the development of a new approach to Total Market to tap into the understanding of how culture plays a stronger role in a post-recession society and its role in leading the General Market. Laura is a member of the employee resource group, the Hispanic Initiative Team (HIT) and the Hispanic Leadership Network.

A native from Puerto Rico, Laura is a Trustee of the Detroit Symphony Orchestra, where she is involved in its Diversity and Inclusion Committee. She holds a Master’s degree in International Business and Latin American Studies from the University of Miami.
