Veronica Herrera is the founder of #CulturePhilanthropy, a social-innovation movement with the purpose of highlighting culture as an valuable asset in economic development. She is a lifelong educator and a columnist for small Spanish-language newspapers. She was the recipient of the 2016 Person of the Year accolade for Hispanicize's Positive Impact Awards 2016 for her grassroots work in professional development.
She serves in several boards in her city, Chattanooga, Tennessee. Mrs. Herrera supports the diversification of leadership across non-profit organizations. Mrs. Herrera received a Proclamation by the Chattanooga City Council recognizing her as an asset to the American society.
Mrs. Herrera is an advocate for the national unification of Latinos calling for a shift in mindset to erase obsolete barriers and to open doors to a national strategy that will allow every segment of the Latino community to contribute in the design of culture-driven solutions for the future of the nation.
